A little different than usual I felt this article was really worth mentioning first and I highly recommend everyone of you read it when you have a few minutes.  It was written by graduating Yale senior, Marina Keegan, for a special edition of the News distributed at the class of 2012's commencement exercises last week.  Unfortunately, Marina Keegan, age 22, was killed in a car accident this past weekend and will never get to experience life after college.  As you can tell from her article, The Opposite of Loneliness, she certainly was wise beyond her years.  In the past week, her final article has gone viral resonating with people all over the world.  Amazing and so tragic.

I am sure many of you have seen the following video, but in case you missed it, this is a great video of the Harvard Baseball team's rendition of "Call Me Maybe":

Although it's not officially the start of summer, to many people, including myself, the Memorial Day weekend represents the "unofficial start of summer".  Growing up, for over 15 years, that meant only a matter of days until Camp Longhorn.  I could go on forever about how amazing Camp Longhorn is, but will spare ya'll the details, and just say, it is amazing, and you should check it out if you have children.

Navy and orange are the official colors of Camp Longhorn, and I love this color combo for summertime.  It's not something I ever think to pair together, but always notice when others do and love their outfits.  You can do navy and orange too, whether it is with just a touch of these colors or you style your entire outfit in this color combo, try it out this summer!

Hope ya'll had a fabulous Memorial Day weekend. Always hard to get back into the swing of things after a long weekend, and that is no different for me today.  Tuesday definitely is feeling more like a Monday this afternoon, but the good news is that it is a short week.  I have a post for later this evening, but in the meantime a few random things I've found recently and had to share with ya'll.

Speaking of Instagram, if you are anything like me, you've become a bit addicted to taking photos and posting them on Instagram, right?  Have you wondered how in the world you were ever going to get copies of all the wonderful Instagram photos you now have stored on the app?  Well, now you can via  This site will print your Instagram photos on everything from mini prints (my personal favorite, and shown below) to mini books.

This video over on the Huffington Post basically sums up my very favorite dance moves from just about every single one of my favorite movies, minus Troop Beverly Hills ... which in case you have no clue what Troop Beverly Hills is, you can check out a tiny bit of this amazing classic below:

Hope your Tuesday is off to a good start and check back here later today for a new post!

I am in the slow process of creating a home office area in my apartment here in New York, and it's been a bit more challenging than I had expected.  It requires creative ideas to figure out how to make a desk work in a small space, but there are so many images I've found for inspiration I wanted to share them with ya'll.  A few of the photos below are ones that I've come across and love!
After figuring out what you want your office space to look like, below are a few of my favorite office essentials.  What are you must have accessories for your office?  Any tips for keeping the space organized? Would love to hear your suggestions!

I am loving this Tibi silk dress and had to share with ya'll since not only is this one of those dresses you could wear about a million times, but if you are feeling the itch to buy this gorgeous gown, head on over to Shopbop to take advantage of their latest deal. This is definitely a dress that could have gone in my wedding outfit inspirations from yesterday, wouldn't it be perfect for a summer wedding? Just the right pop of color and the perfect amount of skin showing, fabulous all over.

On a different note, it's no secret that I love the song Call Me Maybe and this hilarious parody from Leno with President Obama and Mitt Romney is too funny... you can see the video here. Just in case you aren't familiar with the song, you can check out Call Me Maybe below:

Summertime is officially here and that means wedding season is officially upon us.  Both of these outfits would be perfect for any summer wedding, and especially if it's down in Texas with that extreme heat, you want to make sure and dress accordingly.  I am loving these nude sandals right now, wouldn't they go with just about everything possible? And the clutches are a true steal, check them out over on Asos.

I came across the most fabulous idea for a fun get together with your girlfriends or any event really.  The idea from the post was about a "Quote Club", where everyone brings a quote that is meaningful to them and then shares the quote and discusses it. Sounds like a perfect reason to get together with girlfriends & love the idea of throwing a ladies soiree inspired by pink champagne.

I admit I'm a bit of a product junkie, but truly believe there is a product for anything you could possibly need, ever.  I am probably one of the only people you'll hear of who sleeps (most nights, at least!) with frownies on my forehead.  Does it look absolutely ridiculous? Yes! Does it help prevent the creases in your forehead? Absolutely! The things we do for beauty.  Another line I'm loving right now is all Malin+Goetz products.  The peppermint shampoo is the perfect start to your morning with that invigorating scent, wakes you right up! And for any of ya'll looking for the perfect way to get a glowing summer tan, Rodial's airbrush is amazing.  Have any of you tried these products? What are your favorite beauty essentials?

Happy Mother's Day!! This is the first Mother's Day where I have not lived in Texas, and wishing I could have been there to celebrate the day with my wonderful Mom and family in Dallas for what was sure to have been a delicious lunch this afternoon.  I hope ya'll are having a fabulous Mother's Day and Sunday afternoon!

A few favorites for the week, and the video below which is how I only wish I started each day!  I know this has been circulating online for months now, but it's worth sharing with ya'll again, and is guaranteed to make you smile on this Sunday!
Loving this When In New York City tumblr, especially the one below:

This post from Sarah on A House In the Hills is an incredible reminder of something we all have heard multiple times before, but for some reason, so often forget the simple principle that, "your value does not lie in your career succes, the width of your thighs, the amount/quality of things in your home or closet." Sarah goes on to say, "I'd like to remind you, you ARE enough. right this minute, exactly as you are. even before you grow your career to where you aspire it to, or lose 10 lbs, or decorate your house, or wrangle your children into well behaved munchkins. right this minute, you're exactly where you're supposed to be. just keep reminding yourself and i'll do the same. and yes, i just got all deepak chopra on your asses. good day to you. xoxo"  She literally took the words out of my mouth, as I so often find myself saying yes, I just got all Oprah on you, but it is a much needed reminder to all of us to realize we are enough, and we are exactly where we are supposed to be right now, in this moment. You can check out the rest of Sarah's post and her fabulous blog here.

And finally,I came across this post about the powerful things happy people do differently and really loved what it is saying, thought I would share my favorites from the list with ya'll.

Happy Weekend ya'll! I'm a bit behind on posting this week due to playing catch up from travelling last weekend, so promise to be back in action first thing Monday morning!  In the meantime, I mentioned on Tuesday that my sister in law, Julia, and brother had a Cinco de Mayo engagement party at their house last weekend, and as you can see from the pictures below, the entire evening turned out perfectly! They did a phenomenal job at ensuring every last detail was taken care of, and it certainly paid off in the end.  Absolutely love the idea to use mason jars with pink bows for margaritas! I am also really wishing I jumped on board with my mom and Julia in Isla Mujeres back in March when they both bought serapes, because it was perfect to use as a tablecloth for this party.  Hope you can use these great ideas next time you're in need of a little inspiration when throwing a Mexican fiesta, which on a side note, I'd like to celebrate Cinco de Mayo every weekend, such a great reason to eat Mexican food and drink margaritas! Hope ya'll are having a wonderful weekend!

Mother's Day is just a few days away and while I am certain most of you have already found the perfect gift for Mom, it's not too late for those who have procrastinated.  A few of my favorites in this gift guide include the Pinhole Press magnets which are a perfect customized gift for any mom, and I am always in search of cute photos for the fridge so this is a great idea! Another one of my favorites on the list is the cute stationery or whatever you choose from their fabulous notecard, stationery and invitation selection.  Currently, Food52 is doing a promotion for only four more days to spend only $35 and get $60 credit to spend on the all things Hello Lucky. You can get this amazing offer here, and remember you only have four more days for this special promotion!  I also am a big fan of the solid perfume by Tocca, and you can get this and all of their amazing products for 15% off until May 12th with the promo code Mom2012.

Hi there! Did you miss me? I have been a bit MIA this week after a weekend in Austin with great friends and then a few days in Waco spent with my family which of course was pretty wonderful! How was the weekend? Did ya'll do anything festive for Cinco de Mayo? My sister-in-law had an amazing Cinco de Mayo engagement party for one of their friends and I was so impressed with her creative decor ideas for the party that I'm can't wait to share pics from it later this week when I get back to New York.  I meant to post this on Friday, but got a bit sidetracked with travel delays and was not able to get it up before the weekend.  That certainly doesn't mean I can't go ahead and post it for ya'll now! Hope ya'll are having a good start to your week & check back later towards the end of the week for new posts up on the blog!

Refinery29's NYC Ultimate Margarita Map is AMA-ZING. Not only does it break down the best margs in the city by neighborhood, it covers almost any kind of margarita you could possibly imagine. I am looking forward to trying out the delicious sounding Jargarita at Sweet & Vicious. Even though Cinco de Mayo was last weekend, it is always the perfect time for a margarita, so why not try out one of these restaurants this week, or hit up a few of these hot spots this weekend! If you do, let me know what your thoughts are on the margaritas!

Also, I am loving this jam right now, not to mention all of the latest songs by Gotye.  If you haven't downloaded their latest album, I would recommend it!

Oh, and did anyone go by and check out the Shops at Target that I was so excited about last week? Well, if not, then don't rush to your nearest Target. I am sad to report that I was really not that impressed with this first collaboration at Target.  While a few items were worthy of purchasing, I didn't see anything I had to have and certainly nothing to write home about.  Would love to know what your thoughts on the Shops at Target are if you checked them out this weekend, let me know!

I mentioned yesterday in my post about favorite things in May the launch of Shops at Target, and had to share with ya'll a few more details of this pretty incredible designer collaboration.  The Shops at Target officially launch this Sunday, May 6th and can be found both online and in Target stores throughout the nation.  Luckily, I just happen to be heading to Texas this weekend, and will be able to stop by our local Target in Waco to check out the goods, because if I was here in New York, a trip to Target while doable is not exactly a quick in and out experience to say the least.

For their latest venture, Target has taken designer collaborations to the next level with the launch of a new concept partnering directly with local boutiques and specialty stores nationwide to offer Target customers affordable, limited edition collections.  Basically, every two to four months, Target will bring in a few different "shop-in-shops" with the first round of high-end stores including, The Candy Store (um, can we say excited?!), Polka Dog Bakery, Privet Home, Cos Bar Cosmetics, and The Webster (a high-end Miami boutique).

Polka Dog Bakery, based in Boston, is one of the five shops included in the first Shops at Target.  Dogs throughout the country can get a bite of their own of the Boston favorite,  Polka Dog Bakery.  You can stock up on all of the bones, biscuits, colorful bowls, and collars your four-legged friend could possibly desire and for half the price too!  Check out this video for more about this collaboration, and see a few of my favorites below.

Cos Bar Cosmetics line for Target is another shop I am looking forward to checking out this weekend.  This budget friendly collection for Target includes body care products, bath accessories, beauty and manicure tools, and cosmetic bags in a signature bright leopard print.  Prices for this collection is priced from $1 with nothing over $20.
Let me know if ya'll check out your local Target stores or go online to shop these collections this weekend! I am curious to see what ya'll think of the items once they are in stores.

Can you believe it is already May? I know I say this every year but where have the past few months gone, it seems as if 2012 was just getting started and here we are almost half way through the year.

Things to love about May....

One. Mother's Day is coming up in less than two weeks, on Sunday, May 13th.  Check back here later this week for a roundup of fabulous gift ideas for Mom.

Two. The Shops at Target officially launches this Sunday, May 6th and you will not be disappointed with Target's newest designer collaborations.  Polka Dog Bakery and Cos Bar are the two I'm most looking forward to checking out this Sunday.

Three. So exciting to tell ya'll about the launch of Etsy Weddings, an entire Etsy site dedicated to all things wedding- from decor to wedding gifts this is your one stop shop for everything wedding related.  Not to mention, the new wedding registry on Etsy Weddings is pretty amazing.

Four. The perfect answer to all of you wondering how to print those Instagram pictures, My personal favorite, and one that I will definitely be trying out with my own Instagram pictures, the miniprints, how cute are these mini photo cards? Love them! Also love the minibooks which hold 50 pictures each and for two books only cost $12!

Five. This is just a personal favorite, so had to include it!  I feel like May officially marks the beginning of ice cream season, yes I do believe there is an "official" ice cream season, which begins TODAY.  My personal ice cream favorite is one that I'm not sure I'll be able to get here in New York, Blue Bell Ice Cream's Key Lime Pie, and I promise you it is the most amazing thing you've ever tasted. Delicious!
